100% Carbon Fiber Construction
The MVI Carbon Dinghy is built from 100% carbon fiber composite using advanced vacuum infusion technology.
This process allows precise control of the resin-to-carbon ratio, creating an exceptionally strong, rigid, and lightweight structure with minimal excess weight. The result is a premium carbon tender engineered for yacht owners who want strength, safety, performance, and low weight on the davits.
The Magic Is the Hull Engineering
The true advantage of the MVI Carbon Dinghy is not only the carbon construction — it is the engineering of the hull.
The hull is designed with a sharp central V-shape and wide integrated reverse chines that extend outward from the hull geometry. This is one of the key reasons the dinghy rides so differently from a standard tender.
The V-hull allows the boat to cut smoothly through chop, while the wide reverse chines improve stability, control spray, and support the hull at rest.
The result is a tender that does not feel like a typical dinghy. It feels like a real boat.
Low-Drag Planing Performance
Once on plane, the MVI Carbon Dinghy runs with very little wetted surface area.
Only a small aft section of the hull remains in contact with the water — approximately the last 50–60 cm / 20–24 in of the running surface, with the outboard positioned between the two aft planing surfaces.
This greatly reduces drag and allows the dinghy to plane quickly, run efficiently, and move with very little effort.
During normal planing, the wide reverse chines remain mostly above the waterline, so they do not create unnecessary resistance. But when the dinghy meets chop or a larger wave, the chines immediately engage and direct the water outward to the sides.
This creates a fast, smooth, efficient, and remarkably dry ride.
Dry Ride Hull Design
The hull geometry is designed to keep passengers dry.
When the dinghy runs through chop or over waves, the V-hull and wide reverse chines push spray outward and away from the boat. Instead of water coming up into the cockpit, the spray is carried to the sides.
This makes a major difference in real cruising conditions — especially when returning to the yacht in afternoon wind, side chop, or rougher water.
Exceptional Boarding Stability
The wide integrated reverse chines also create outstanding stability when the dinghy is at rest.
When floating beside a yacht, dock, or beach, the outward-angled chines sit on the water and increase the effective supporting footprint of the hull. This gives the dinghy excellent initial stability and makes boarding and disembarking much safer and more comfortable.
Passengers can step onto the side deck or move their weight to one side with confidence, while the dinghy remains stable, controlled, and reassuringly safe.
Passenger Capacity & Power
The MVI Carbon Dinghy offers space for up to 7–8 passengers, depending on passenger weight and total load.
It is compatible with outboards from 10 hp to 40 hp, with 25 hp being the recommended setup.
The hull has been tested with a 25 hp outboard, and the result is outstanding. This power level delivers an excellent balance of fast planing, efficiency, control, and overall performance, making it the ideal choice for most owners.
Open Interior Layout & Storage
One of the major advantages of the MVI Carbon Dinghy is the open interior layout created by the hull design.
Because of the engineered hull shape, the seating layout can be positioned as far aft as possible, keeping the interior deck open, clean, and highly practical.
This aft layout creates the largest possible open deck area inside the dinghy, giving passengers more usable space and making the boat much more practical for real cruising life.
Because the dinghy is a rigid carbon tender, the areas beneath the side decks also create long practical storage zones along both sides of the boat. Bags, supermarket groceries, dive gear, and cruising equipment can be stored along the sides while the main deck remains clear, open, and comfortable.
Tested in Real Cruising Conditions
The MVI Carbon Dinghy was designed for real yacht life, not only calm marina water.
It has been tested in waves up to approximately 1.5 m / 5 ft, where it delivered impressive comfort, safety, and control.
If you leave the yacht in calm morning conditions and the afternoon wind builds waves later in the day, the engineered hull shape gives you the confidence to return safely and comfortably.
This is the true magic of the design: a lightweight carbon tender that can explore beyond the anchorage and still bring you back with confidence.
Unsinkable Safety Design
The MVI Carbon Dinghy is engineered with positive buoyancy and multiple sealed flotation zones.
It includes 4 flotation zones, in addition to the natural positive buoyancy of the foam-core carbon construction.
The flotation system includes:
Two aft sealed flotation compartments on both sides of the outboard area
A double floor flotation chamber with its own drain plug
A forward sealed fuel tank compartment, also designed as a buoyancy zone
The storage compartment beneath the seats and the forward fuel tank compartment both have access lids positioned higher than the transom level.
This is a critical safety detail. In an extreme situation where a large wave enters the dinghy, water can drain aft through the transom before reaching the level of the sealed compartment lids. This helps protect the flotation compartments and maintain the integrity of the buoyancy system.
Combined with the foam-core carbon structure, this creates a safe, confidence-inspiring tender with true positive buoyancy.
Davits Ready
The Tiller Edition comes prepared for yacht davit systems, with stainless steel lifting points included as standard.
For owners who want the cleanest full-carbon finish, custom carbon composite lifting points are available as an optional upgrade.
Finish & Custom Options
The Tiller Edition is finished with exposed high-gloss carbon fiber and custom color accents.
The visible carbon finish gives the dinghy a premium, high-performance appearance, while the interior stripe can be customized in blue, silver, or any color selected by the client.
EVA foam deck and EVA rub rail options can also be added for comfort, grip, protection, and a clean yacht-quality finish
